Frequently Asked Questions

This page shows answers to common questions about Summer Sounds. If there is no answer to your question, reach out to us through our contact page.

What’s the process of releasing a song?

The track release process within the Summer Sounds network is straightforward. All releases are distributed under a Creative Commons license, allowing external music networks and YouTube creators to share, use, and monetize the content. The only strict requirement is that proper credit must be given to both the original artist and the Summer Sounds network.

As an artist, you are allowed to upload your own track to your own YouTube. Direct uploads from others are not allowed unless given permission. We will allow others to use your song on social media and mixtapes. For more information, visit the licensing page.

Do I earn money from a Summer Sounds release?
Yes, however the amount varies and is based on the songs’ success. For more information about monitizing, you can reach out to us.
Can you promote my song without releasing it?
Yes, we do not only upload released songs. If your song is released at a different network but you would like your track to be promoted, check out the submissions page.
On which platforms will my track be distributed?
We will publish your song on YouTube, SoundCloud and Spotify.
Can I (artist) provide my own cover art?
Yes, absolutely. You are welcome to share your cover art concepts with us at any time for any of your releases on Summer Sounds, and we will be happy to review and approve them. You may also provide background photos or images for us to use when creating your cover art, provided that the materials are copyright-free and licensed for commercial use without attribution requirements.
Are all uploads on Summer Sounds YouTube Channel free of copyright ?
Almost all of the songs that get uploaded to our channel on YouTube are free of copyright with permission obtained by labels/artists to promote without any limitations. Summer Sounds releases are licensed trough creative commons (more info in the licensing page). The songs we upload that are released by another label might have specific copyright rules. Therefore, it we recommend looking up these rules for the distributor.
What is the difference between a Premier and a Promo ?
A track premier simply means our network gets to upload and promote the track first on our YouTube channel and SoundCloud page excluding distribution (we leave that up to you). Promo is promotion to your track/song through our network on our YouTube channel only.
Do you have a release contract / track agreement for artists to sign at Summer Sounds ?
Yes, we certainly do. Summer Sounds Network has an outlined track agreement contract for artists to sign which normally is negotiated with each release accordingly.
